Elvis gets animated...

Not much to say (For once), still working on the Jack the Ripper story, so I thought I'd take a break from Victorian London and nasty men with big knives with... Elvis Animated!. Yes, The King in motion.
These GIFs are all from Elvis: That's the Way It Is and Girls! Girls! Girls! , the former being a fantastic insight into the preparation for, and the performance of, Elvis' landmark 1970 Vegas comeback. As for the latter... well, you get to see his full acting range, plus a suspicious lump when he's dancing... oh, but it did feature 'Return to Sender'...

Yes, the guy had style... 'Jumpsuit Elvis' remains my favourite incarnation from the career of the World's Greatest Entertainer...

Filmed over six shows, the '70 comeback saved Elvis, but it trapped him. Originally a break with the years spent churning out drive-in movie fodder, Elvis came to hate Vegas. 'Colonel' Parker's gambling debts saw him offer up Elvis as a pay-off. Sadly, depression set in, made worse by the break up of what seemed the perfect marriage when Priscilla Presley filed for divorce. This though, is Elvis at his best; 35, slim and at his peak as a performer - remember him this way, not as the overweight recluse he eventually became.

Above: Every female Elvis fan's dream comes true for one of the many lucky girls The King kissed at the International Showroom. The size of the place made it a daunting prospect; even Streisand bombed here. Elvis was noticably tense and nervous after so long away from his fans. Would they still like him?... the answer is clear from the queues at the booking office.
Above and below: Girls! Girls! Girls! Elvis in 1962 shows his moves, while (below) perhaps he was just pleased to see her...
