Just in case...

Yes, those pesky Mayans again - not normally the go-to guys for prophecies (Given how it all ended for them) suddenly everyone seems to be quoting the World's prettiest/most obscure calendar as evidence the World Ends Tomorrow. As in tomorrow - the 21st. Not sure we should have got all that booze in for Xmas now. Well - either its relieved laughs all round or I wasted my last day writing this... well, its been fun, so manly nods and deep breaths as we face the awful end together... Vod and Coke anyone?...

Oh, I was planning lots of new and exclusive stuff all delivered in my trademark rambly-dribble style - lots of James Bond stuff and general Movie bits and bobs, some cool Elvis posts and its looking like the Sherlock Holmes story will be finished sometime soon(ish) - thats here FIRST. Or would be if we weren't all, well, you know - doomed. If not; I hope you like it (Think Jan/Feb for Sherlock) This year saw my James Bond story Bayamo hit the net - not much of a splash as they go, more of a quiet plop and a few suspicious-smelling bubbles - but I had fun writing it...

All in all a mixed year, for lots of reasons, but onwards, dear heart, ever onwards. Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, keep yourself safe and lets enjoy the spirit of the season. See you all in 2013, I'm off to my hollowed-out volcano; so much to do - the monorail's sqeaking again, the piranha's water needs changing - and we need more tinsel for the rocket gantry... work, work work...

Jerry Bundler-A Ghost Tale for Christmas

Ahhh Christmas, chestnuts roasting? - no, not here either, but we've been stockpiling mince pies and mixed nuts, plus I'm beginning to suspect Mrs.S is attempting to corner the market in twiglets. Just in case you are in one of those far-flung and remote parts of the World (Assuming you actually have the internet. If not, how the hell are you even reading this tripe?) and these savoury treats aren't a feature of life in your country, I should (Or should'nt) take the time to describe them. Think a twiggy crunchy wholewheat stick dipped in marmite/vegemite. I know - more rambling than a fifty year old fiddler in a bobble hat, NHS specs and with his socks over his corduroy trousers...
All this pump and just to promote a story by some dead bloke you couldn't care less about? - yes, but it is a Christmas tradition that some old fart gets the younger/more credible family members round and tells a ghost story. Not my experience admittedly, having grown up living with just my late Mum (Bless her, she's long gone) - but lets bring the tradition back, shall we?. So, give this a spin... there are loads of these on the Net, often free, and there's always those library places... Turn the lights out, get a candle or two going, and a glass of Port might be a plan...

Merry Christmas from Volcano Cat!

Yes, its that time of year, a time for some to gently contemplate the life of a remarkable man, a man who gave his life so that we might reap the rewards at Christmas... but enough about Elvis (Though the Elvis Christmas album is a genuine treasure) and let's get to the real reasons for Christmas....
These vary according to perspective; for many of us, family comes first, in a time of sharing and togetherness. Others have a religious viewpoint, celebrating their faith with likeminded people. The board members of Britian's supermarkets come together in agreement as to how best to persuade us that Christmas should be brought forward - to January 2nd.

Now, I appreciate that for many of you this is all a bit soon - we've got our tree and decs up already, and it's the start of December... why not?. The British way is to gently tut-tut about such frippery - you can shoot someone in the head with a Magnum .44 and the average Brit will merely ask you to keep the noise down. So, amidst a chorus of disapproving tutting... Merry Christmas to one and all. May the seasonal spirit fill your hearts with joy and lift your spirits - whatever your faith or religious leanings.

Revealed: 007's Christmas Polaroids...(the clean ones)

Yes, it really is time for 'serious' blog-stuff, but while we are still finishing off the gammon sandwiches and sifting through piles of hazelnuts and almonds in the fruitless hope of finding the very last brazil (is there a family somewhere with a bowlful of brazils wanting to swap?), there's just time for this gin-inspired offering... James Bond's Xmas snaps...

Happy New Year!
